Now that we've had a chance to get to know Decodium in the previous couple of posts I wanted to give my honest opinion of versions 3 and 4. Personally I much prefer Decodium Shannon Version 3. I like its clean interface and simple look. It decodes nicely is quick and has a number of tools you can add to it if desired.

Decodium Shannon 4, I have some real concerns with, while it works well, it has a very busy interface, things like peak hold on the signal portion, a terrible looking waterfall no matter what colour you might choose, along with a host of other gimicks. The one I found the most annoying was the rx/tx bar thar goes completely across the screen something I find very distracting. to be honest there maybe a way to resize it but I haven't found it yet. The colour palette they have is also hard on my old eyes.
The Pros
Either one decodes FT 2, 4 and 8 as well as others and do it well, both integrate well with GTracker as seen in the first photo. Both will log to a number of online logbooks as well as a local copy. Easy button Mode and Band switching
Maybe you don't care at all because you work CW/SSB but if your working digital you might want to try out one version or the other.
